Baruntse is one of the beautiful 7,000 m tall snowpeaks in the Himalayas of Nepal. It is also one of the few peaks of this height with a high success rate of ascent. The path to the mountain-top follows the Mera Peak trek, up to Mera La and then to the Baruntse Base Camp (5,250m).
We normally set up two camps above the Base Camp for climbing Baruntse. Camp I is set up just below East Col, at an altitude of 5,700 m and Camp II is at the South–East Ridge at a height of 6,420 m. From Camp I, we cross East Col and descend down through steep slopes. We then cross over a large snow plateau and move towards the bottom of the South–East Ridge. We then move through steeping slopes of the ridge to a small col, the site of Camp II. From camp II, we will climb steep snow slopes (45 degrees) and frequently pass a series of short steep steps of ice and snow until we reach the west side of the ridge. We will then pass through short sections of rock scrambling which leads to a marked cleft and ice cliff and getting over these leads to easier and broader slopes. Finally, we will climb up to the 7,129 m tall summit. The descend is done using the same route.

Kathmandu Durbar Square and Patan Durbar Square are full of palaces and ancient temples that belong to the periods between 12th and 18th centuries. The stunning architecture involved in the construction of temples and palaces in Durbar Square makes the place one of the most frequented tourist destinations.

Coming to Swayambhunath and Boudhanath is an surreal experience with traditional carvings and art everywhere. The magical atmosphere is at its peak in the morning and evening by devotees who make a ritual circumnavigation of the stupa, spinning the prayer wheels. It is a great place to watch the sun rise and sun set in Kathmandu.
